Benefit Report

2022 benefit report

GiveMore® helps individuals and organizations raise funds more effectively. We do this by providing tools and services that enable charitable giving, matching donations, and the socialization of causes.

From the very beginning when GiveMore® was just an idea that had been quickly sketched out on a scrap piece of paper, I knew I had to do things right. To me doing it the right way meant being in line with the triple bottom line: People, Planet, and Profit. Doing it the right way meant trying to craft a business where everyone involved benefits from the process. This is no easy feat but is vitally important.

While our operating agreement had provisions to be a benefit company from day one, it wasn’t until several years later, in 2019, that we officially became certified through Benefit Corporations for Good.

Our Mission

Our mission is to encourage you and your community to give more.

We aim to do this by developing innovative tools and marketing practices that will help our causes attract and engage donors ultimately leading to greater levels of giving. We also aim to operate in a way that is inclusive and develops a diverse culture.

2022 Year in Review

Towards the end of 2021 we realized we needed to differentiate and be more than just a fundraising portal.  I love GoFundMe.  They are amazing, but in order to compete with them, we will need to do something better.  I believe we have found the missing ingredient.

The problem with tools such as GoFundMe and all of the hundreds of other fundraising sites out there is that your reach is your network.  Even with sites like Kickstarter where you benefit from their audience, you will still find that the most successful campaigns bring their own community.

But what if there was a way to unlock and tap into the networks of other organizations?  As a nonprofit, you don’t live on an island (unless you do - Aloha Maui NPOs!) GiveMore has become a networked product.  Businesses can now create profiles and connect with causes in what we are calling GiveMore Offers.   The basic idea is that a local restaurant can create and offer contingent on the donor giving to a cause they support above a predetermined threshold. So when the donor gives $20, they unlock a 10% off coupon.  If they give $100, they might unlock a buy one get one or some other reward.  The business wins because your donors will be introduced to their services and the cause will win because the business’s patrons will be encouraged to give more.  Best of all, this strengthens our communities

Looking Ahead

While 2022 was spent differentiating our offering, moving forward, GiveMore is going to be an invite-only platform while we test and learn from the Offers program.  Additionally, we have started to develop a publishing branch of the company and are putting together a learning portal that will benefit NPOs and individuals who are raising funds regardless of whether or not they are using GiveMore or another service such as GoFundMe. Exciting things are coming in 2023!
